April is National Poetry Month.  Stop by the library April 22-26 to explore poetry, try origami, grab a poem bookmark, & make friendship bracelets.

 

NEW!!  Diploma Exam Prep Sessions: Registration opens April 22

Diploma Exam Prep courses are designed for preparing students to write their Grade 12 diploma examinations. The material presented is based on a 12-hour schedule during a weekend. Courses will run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a half-hour break for lunch. Courses will be offered at Salisbury Composite High, 20 Festival Way, in Sherwood Park. Students can only register for one review course each weekend. Cost is $125 per course, or $75 for Science 30. Register on the Next Step website. Course dates include:

  • June 1 and 2: English Language Arts 30-1 and Social Studies 30-1
    • Registration closes May 31
  • June 8 and 9: English Language Arts 30-1 and Social Studies 30-1
    • Registration close June 6
  • June 15 and 16: Math 30-1, Math 30-2, Biology 30 and Chemistry 30
    • Registration closes June 13
  • June 22: Science 30
    • Registration closes June 20
  • June 22 and 23: Physics 30
    • Registration closes June 20

 

Grade 12s!  Mrs. S still has appointments available to get your hair done for Grad!  For 20$, you can get a consultation prior to grad and a hair appointment on June 1.  Please see Mrs. S in the Cos class to book your appointment now.

The Northeast Capital Industrial Association (NCIA) is once again distributing $5,000 in scholarships (5 x $1,000 scholarships) to students attending a high school in Alberta's Industrial Heartland. This will be the third year that we have offered this scholarship opportunity. Appetizer:  Mozza Sticks & Dip – Crispy & golden deep fried mozzarella sticks paired with marinara sauce for dipping and sharing.  $5.00.

Student Special:  Chicken Fingers & Fries – Crispy Chicken Fingers accompanied by a generous portion of golden Fries for only $9.00.

Sandwich: Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwich - Nostalgia meets simplicity with a classic PB&J cut into triangles on soft white bread for $4.00.

Soup of the Day: Beef Barley -Warm up with a hearty bowl of beef barley soup a Canadian classic!  $3.50

Burger: Trio of Beef Sliders -Perfectly grilled patties topped with cheese, lettuce tomatoes & pickles.  All between freshly baked homemade buns. $6.00
