Opportunity Wednesdays

Students are dismissed at 2:15 p.m. every Wednesday. Except for the first Wednesday of the month (Staff Meeting), buses do not arrive until 3:15 p.m.

Opportunity Wednesdays provides numerous advantages for our students, including the following:

Academic Coaching

Students can access all their class teachers to review or relearn concepts that they may have not mastered or missed, work on CTS projects, etc.

Rewrite Opportunities

Students who demonstrate that they have grasped a concept that eluded them through a formative activity can earn the opportunity to Rewrite a summative assessment.

Student Peer-to-Peer Opportunities

Students may participate in opportunities for life skills learning and peer-to-peer support activities, which may also provide dual credit access to Early Child Education and support courses.

Staff Collaboration

Teachers will meet and collaborate to improve practice and access professional learning opportunities.

Students riding the busses are welcome to take advantage of the opportunities above or may decide to study in the library or commons areas until the buses arrive at 3:15 p.m.

We are looking forward to leveraging "Opportunity Wednesdays" in various ways. We feel strongly that this time will be able to provide a lot of support for our students academically and give students a chance to access important presentations dedicated to preparing for life after High School.
